It is (relatively) modern slang and is still in use amongst young people today, although I am sure they created plenty of new words to express their desire to not be in school!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I was reminded of that expression this morning, looking out of the window at the misty, cold day and thinking : &#8220;Je s\u00e8cherais bien les cours, aujourd&#8217;hui&#8221; (&#8220;I would like to skip school today!&#8221;)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stay warm, everybody \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/tse2.mm.bing.net\/th?id=OIP.UzTw6LQQoRd105AWuEorfwAAAA&amp;pid=Api\" alt=\"s\u00e9cher - French expression - French Etc\"\/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Le mot du jour : &#8220;s\u00e9cher les cours&#8221; &#8220;S\u00e9cher les cours&#8221; translates by &#8221; to dry the lessons&#8221; and means to skip school without a good reason.
